Growing up Granny would tell me about how Great Grand Pappy used to holler "Long Live the Delta Theatre" This was almost 80 years ago. Pappy lived downtown, and swore they scrubbed it down with Spic and Span every night. The refurbished Cinema has been modernized replacing the lonely one screen. Great sound and picture quality, and still clean as a country dog whistle. All the kids n' kin folk say it's the best popcorn in town, and smells much sweeter than any other--almost better than Sugar Pops.
Love this place! They only have one screen, it's true.. But they have first-run movies at such an affordable price you can take your whole family and maybe a couple of friends for the same price as you'd pay for 2-3 people at a big multiplex. Seating is a bit old-fashioned and worn and the bathroom...well it is TINY, not well-ventilated, and looks as if it hasn't been updated since the Eisenhower Administration. However, if you can overlook all this- there is a family feel and retro vibe that makes your whole experience pleasurable. Not to mention, the popcorn is very tasty and the staff is friendly and attentive. Great way to stretch your budget.
Like when I was a kid. The popcorn, prices to people all has that small town feeling of quality and honest hospitality. Man the people are awesome. I love going here. My favorite way to end a date night as we walk from the local bars or restaurants to relax and enjoy a movie in a theater that should be the standard not an exception.
